How to Improve Sled Sprints?

Athletes who pushed heavy sleds weren't running their fastest time. The heaviest people were pushing while still being able to fully extend was two to 2.5 times their body weight. If you just put like a thousand pounds on the sled and it's moving, but you're taking these short choppy steps that I didn't find to be optimal for transferring over to speed.
