The Importance of Political Engagement in International Relations Theory
All the powers going into World War I anticipated that the war would be short brief florias and victorious. The practice of accommodation can backfire and even wet the appetite of that power or give a perception of weakness so where do you draw that line how do you do that properly? classical realism recognizes this dilemma and focuses much more on the political side than the military side but hubris is an important part of how states have behaved in world politics they say there are no limits to our power we can take this adventure.
