The Fine Line Between Challengers and Showing Up

When we started going to our current church, we did not go to every service. I have been challenged by my pastor over and over again to continually step up in terms of leadership. But is it wrong for your employer to expect you to show up every day if you got a job? There's a fine line between challenging somebody to be better and challenging somebody to just show up.
