Sleep Is Essential for Memory Consolidation
During sleep, particularly during non rem sleep, they observe that pattern of activity, both sot of spatial and temporal patterns reoccurring. It's not known whether this is directly associated with consolidation of memory. A related hypothesis is that sleep may be involved in regularizing synaptic weights. Insomnia is the most common sleep problem, and many adults report occasional insomnia. About ten to 15 % reportt as a chronic condition. There are a number of more specific sleep disorders.
