"I think for us it's going to be a matter of incremental improvements as I show consistency in reaching out to him and taking an interest in his life," she says. "Danica still has this story in her head that somehow she is so much more in common with John [than Blake] but they did when they were in the early 20s have some relationship where they found some overlap." She hopes Danica can get over the hesitation she has because of wanting to not hurt him in any way shape or form again.
