my parents broke up when I was two and a half, whatever it might

be. And then when you hear people come back at you and go, oh my God, you're talking about me. Oh my gosh, you're describing my life. Oh my gosh, like this is my experience. I was like, ah, there's something here. And I then really, as I was going along and experimenting because nobody taught me how to have boundaries. I had to experiment with learning to say no, with recognizing when I was uncomfortable, with recognizing which relationships were actually relatively healthy and could handle no, and which ones weren't that healthy and couldn't handle no, but still needed it. And experimenting around with these and sharing my lessons through writing the blog and so forth has helped me to gradually heal over these last 15 years. And as I said, it's a work in progress. I'll tell you what has been the biggest eye opener for me. And I don't know if you've had this quamy, but I met my now husband about eight months after I had that initial epiphany. And I was in a far better place then. And it's interesting that once I started working for myself and doing what I was doing a few years later, that's where I really confronted a lot of my people pleasing and perfectionism through that as well. It's like, oh, you don't just learn about this through your relationships. You also learn about it through how you work with people as well. That's where you sometimes get to discover just how much of a people please are you are.
