Is Fasting the Fastest Way to Get Ketones Up?
Fasting is an extraordinarily powerful tool. I often use it most commonly when patients have cheated on the diet and get into trouble. If their appetite is being suppressed, I'll tell them, do not force yourself to eat. For some people it can be 24 hour fast and their symptoms are gone. Other patients need to fast maybe a little longer. We're getting great biomarker information now because we know how to intervene. So if you're having problems with ketones go back to 0.6, your symptoms will come back. Well, that's a great response. And every situation is different.
