What Is Bishito?
Bishito is a traditional Japanese code of conduct. It was formalized 300 years ago by lio shogana, but it's still very much in use today. Bishito can mean justice, courage, benevolence or mercy; also politeness and loyalty to retainer.

What is Bushido?
--> Japanese word that literally means "warrior way".
Bushi: "warrior" = literally 'military + man'.
Do: road, or way
- Bushido is also used as an overarching term for all the codes, practices, philosophies and principles of samurai culture.
- Bushido formalized earlier samurai moral values and ethical code, most commonly stressing a combination of sincerity, frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery and honour until death
- It allowed the violent existence of the samurai to be tempered by wisdom, patience and serenity
- A code often unuttered to unwritten.
- Requires a rite of passage, and in order to become a Samurai, one must master this code.
- Variations by clan, by tribe and by territory.

Eight virtues of Bushidō (as defined by Nitobe Inazō):
- Righteousness (義, gi)
- Heroic Courage (勇, yū)
- Benevolence, Compassion (仁, jin)
- Respect (礼, rei)
- Honesty (誠, makoto)
- Honour (名誉, meiyo)
- Duty and Loyalty (忠義, chūgi)
- Self-Control (自制, jisei)
