The inner refers to an inner voice that judges, criticises or demeans a person. A highly active inner critic can take it all on one's emotional well being and self esteem. At times, this little vo can actually be helpful, and it can keep us motivated towards goals. But when it gets into this realm of excessive negativity,. This is known as negative self talk. And it can really bring us down. It can sound quite grounded. So the voice thit says, i'm not good at this, so i should avoid attempting it for my own personal safety... Or just be mean.
