The Challenges of Open-Source SaaS
The challenge with that open-source model, with the SaaS model, is that you're now often competing with the cloud service providers themselves. Databricks is an example of that because it's actually really hard to operate and run software in the cloud. So, my advice is this, if you start a company on open-source now, you need to be 100% in the cloud; don't touch on-prem.
