The Effects of Metabolism on Hypertrophy
The original study was done in around the same sort of time as the previous one we've just been talking about. And it was another one that started the whole process for people kind of hypothesizing that maybe metabolites were a key mechanism. The reason was because basically the hypertrophy after concentric training and eccentric training was found to be fairly similar. So essentially what they were proposing was that the metabolite accumulation during the concentric could make up the difference between the force levels.
