Aristotle says the good life cludes quite a lot of pleasure, and for a variety of reasons. Pleasure always involves enjoying some activity, whether it is eating, driving a fast car or simply feeling at peace with yourself. Aristotle does come back to the topic of pleasure later in the ethics, and when he does so, he makes it clear why he is not a hedonist. For him, devoting one's life to pleasure is not only a mistake, it is downright incoherent.
