The mind is conditioned by greed and desire, when it's colored by hatred or anger. Maybe we're not experiencing it as a burning, but how do we feel it? In doing that, it becomes much easier than to recognize these fetters of defilements in the first place. So we really recognize it very clearly and very directly for ourselves.
