The Pros and Cons of Training Closer to Failure
At higher percent of 1RM just the higher RPE there can be a muscular contribution and compensation that can happen to that loading which you don't necessarily get when you're training further from failure. So one of the pros that the lower RPE group may have had is more opportunity to generate muscle specific compensation volume right like keep psychological fatigue low so that's one of the things that I think the lower R PE group has in favor that theHigher RPE group doesn't necessarily have.
