The Placido Effect

A placibo is an enactive or dummy treatment in the form of a pill, injection or device. It's administered in clinical trials to test real drug against control comparison. Placibos aren't designed to have any therapeutic effect on patients who take it. But when this happens, it's because the patients believe they're getting better. Belief alters biology and causes chemical changes in the brain. Patients can believe opposite things about the same placible and get opposite effects from it.
