Does Culture Impact Algorithm Recommendations?

SW asks, does culture impact the way people interact with their algorithmic recommendations? Where some cultures prefer absolutes, others might prefer consensus or something that resonates with historical data. And we know from study that for instance in YouTube, the recommender system seems to push people into more extreme videos and more unscientific videos because that are those that are the more exciting ones.
