How to Make a Masala Chai?

The base of most masala chai has ginger, but it doesn't have to have ginger. You can use clove, cinnamon, fennel, black cardamom, rose, mint, lemongrass and Tulsi. If you lightly crush in a mortar and pestle the spices, even just a little bit, that helps release a lot of their essential oils.
