The Physiological Sigh

A physiological sigh is a pattern of breathing that involves two inhales followed by an extended exhale. Physiological sighs were discovered in the 1930s and can be done voluntarily anytime you're feeling too stressed. The idea for me wasn't something that I was necessarily aware of before Dr. Hubermann revealed it through this clip. Mike, I nearly missed the pickup from that clip because I was doing the physiological sigh myself. We've already had power tips like getting out of bed and getting outside as quick as possible to reduce anxiety but now we have double breath and stress.
