How to Support a Young Person Feeling Anxious
I know at times young people who feel anxious can feel angry and can have big feelings that are a bit confronting sometimes for the adults around them. I don't think that there's only sort of one best best best response sometimes just giving that child some quiet time to calm down but not trying to negotiate with themSometimes it's not helpful to be trying to give a very dysregulated child advice because they might feel like we're not listening to them or validating their experiences when we're not hearing them. They're powerful words for a young person to hear so reinforcing for that decision that choice to do what matters which is be at school and connect and stay socially connected with friends and people who care
