Is the Sorting of People Into Self Chosen Enclaves Really a Problem?

Sowell says black communities are not simply sorted out from white communities, but also that there is dramatic sorting going on within black communities themselves. Sowell draws upon the work of e franklin fraser to show clear patterns of clustering within black communities. Soell gives the example of the all black dunbar high school in Washington D.C., which had one of the best educational student outcomes in the city before a court case led to its demise. The idea of forcibly integrating schools ran parallel with the idea of residential and other outcomes by the sorting of people became widely condemned as creating wrongs against less fortunate groups.
