The Effects of Trauma on the Brain

The fight or flight response is when our brains and bodies feel like the problem can still be solved, or we have agency to solve or fix that problem. Our freeze mode is whenOur brains are sort of like, actually, know we don't. And there is a link between chronic trauma and negative effects on your health, such as autoimmune disease. The ACE study found some interesting results that correlated things like thyroid disease, diabetes, asthma, headaches, ulcers, multiple sclerosis, lupus, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, heart disease, cancer, and lung disease.
