The number one advice on that side would just be talk to your customers. I know it seems really straightforward and really obvious, but just so few people actually do it. They will tell you everything they need to know about why you weren't a fit or why you are a great fit. That is invaluable across the organization. It helps us strengthen our network, get introductions, inform our product decisions.
