The Importance of Palpation Pain
If you've had a prior hamstring strain injury, your risk of future injury is far greater than those who haven't. The two tests that I most frequently use are a passive straight leg raise to establish hip flexion range of motion and then also an active knee extension test. Both of those tests have been shown to be better correlated with prognosis for running progressions and return to sport as well. And probably the last sort of clinical assessment will be looking at strength.
