The Importance of Reading Montaigne

Montaigne is difficult to pigeonhole as a philosopher at all. There's a sense in which you learn about how you might live through reading how he lived. In Montana I think it becomes a form of philosophy because he does it on a level that does draw on philosophical traditions. He had influence on Descartes, Pascal and Voltaire. Nietzsche thought that Montaigne was the person that you should read in order to learn how to live.
