The idea of being in attendance to Louise every need meant that the closer you were to the king, and to more to those intimate moments. The only people that should go anywhere near the king's body are those people who have a very, very high status indeed. And I think part of the demeaning of the nobility is the fact that this attracts a great deal of satire about them carrying out these menial tasks.
