The Somme Rule and the State of Unemployment
How many states are in recession based on the Claudia Somme rule? Somewhere around 10 or less states where their unemployment rate at the state level has risen more than a half a percentage point. If you do look at some of these pockets of pain and then you look at the overall aggregate, does it make the overall aggregate look worse or better? That's what we're trying to find out.
