My daughter is being mean to her six-year-old best friend. I think my eight year old feels jealous and insecure about her sister's friend. So in terms of guidance, I would work on her expectation of what he should be doing right now. Why some decisions are harder than others. Why he chooses not to make a decision a lot of the time. Even what he's afraid of. We can go to those open spaces with our children where we're not letting our own agenda get in the way or our own feelings. And that's how we build trust.
