We get caught up in wanting something because we know that we can't have it. The mistake we make with casual relationships is thinking that we can use them as backdoor entry to a committed relationship. Sex doesn't tell us a great deal about shared core values and how compatible we are. We end up objectified by the other person also feeling better than ourselves.
