The Importance of Emotion Regulation

When we avoid the thing that's making us anxious and then our anxiety grows. Similar to those negatively reinforcing anxiety loops, right? So I have to approach the task and I've avoided the feelings about the task. So I've got it like I got to deal with that too. The more we do that, the more stuff we're accumulating that becomes part of approaching the task altogether. And so then you're just accumulating even more emotional distress that at some point you have to manage.
