Agile and Product Owners
The agile community has caused tremendous damage to product companies all around the world. Agile was the forcing function to convert a lot of companies from the IT model where there wasn't a product manager or a product owner. It's like your engineers, when they learn scrum, does that teach them how to code? Does it even teach them the first thing about any programming language? Of course not. And so I think what we're saying is that there's a lot more to product management than agile teams think a product owner is responsible for.
