How to Figure Out Who's Your Competition in a Sales Process

The more we can help customers figure that out, the more valuable we are to them in a sales process. For positioning work, I only have to compete against things that my customers consider competitive right now. If they do start competing with us next year, we're going to adjust the positioning then. This is why it's very important to check in on your positioning regularly. A lot of marketing and sales stuff that I see in startups avoids talking about competitors completely.
