The First Noble Truth
The buddha structured his teaching in terms of medical practice. He diagnosed that there was a problem, identified the underlying causes and prescribed treatment. The four noble truths end upfor ing the core of all buddhist paths and traditions. It helps us not take things personally when the surprises in life jump up.
