We tend to value what will bring us immediate rewards more than delayed rewards. Procrastination is just an implication of that, because if I always focus more on now than on the later value I can create, I'll always put off until tomorrow what I can. The other thing that's related to procrastination is breaking down big goals into smaller pieces.
