The Mechanism of Injury in Running

The structure of the soleus is one reason for that injury pattern. There's also really complex innovation to the particularly the deep posterior lower leg and that could result in just a different perception of symptoms. And we can theorise why this might be the case in potentially the really high proportion of slow twitch fibers in the soleus, maybe prone to cumulative failure. It's almost a cumulative or evolving pathology in a different way than say a rectus femurist strain during kicking or a biceps femurists strain during sprinting.
