As a line manager, you can just get things done. But when you have to lead through other managers, you really have to find that spot on what is going to motivate this person for them to meet their goals. You have all you have as a manager of managers or even with cross-functional roles, I think it becomes really critical as you become an executive. And that's how you help them be better managers.
