The Paradox of Processed Foods

processed food involves expense in processing, right? I mean, it must cost money to do this to the food. It leaves one thinking why would companies be spending money on making food less nutritious? And basically that comes back to the point of making it last, does it? A little bit, but it's actually more that these kind of core foods that make up ultra processed foods are largely subsidized. So it's actually very cheap to produce sugar beat and sugar cane. You are always going to get more money from a product that you can add value to.
