Alcohol is the kind of habit that can get away from you, and then sneakily take over your life. What i noticed about me drinking at night, ally with red wine, which was my go too, was that i was essentially using red wine as a distresser. So if my only real goal of alcohol was to distress and fall asleep, well i can do that with other means. There's other healthier options that exist. And all i really had to do is make that part of my routine, and then all f a sudden, i can go to bed when i want to, feeling nice and healthy and alcohol free.
