Buddhism is a way of looking at life and how we can be peaceful with ourselves. It's not about beating yourself up or the other person up for something that has just happened but rather making peace with it in an overall situation. I was severely depressed when my youngest child was two years old so I thought I either have to move to India and learn Buddhism or I'm going to kill myself. So I went to Melbourne and I joined the class and every single Wednesday for a year I drove eight hours return trip to Melbourne and that's where I started my Buddhism. My very first day they said you're suffering because of your perception of your life and I said yeah my life sucks
