Suffering is broken down by the three trainings in classical Buddhism. There's ordinary suffering of life, old age, sickness and death. Good ethics can help minimize that form of suffering to a reasonable degree. If you're doing less things you feel guilty about or are causing less suffering in the world, then hopefully you're living in a world with less anger and injustice for you.
