Identifying the Stress Response Is a Game Changer

Sally Kohn: I would get very defensively in an argument or a yeah, in the mental breakdown. But once you're aware of that, if you say example, get triggered, you can do something to prevent you going into that response. If my husband says something that triggers me before I start to go into fight, I will tell him, hold on, I need to go process this. And now we can actually have a calm conversation about it instead of getting into an argument. Because now my body is not in that survival mode. It's such a game changer to be able to do that.
