Being able to read fluently is so valuable in our society. It's probably the single most valuable skill you can have, other than being able to work with other people. One of the things that i will hear from, not from teachers, but from parents all the time is, i wish my kids would read. Which the answer is, your kids read all the time. They're just not reading books.
