How to Train for an Ironman

For an injury prone athlete, I'd be looking at the build up road business and address the injury concern before committing to an Ironman. If you're thinking of race pace as a four hour Ironman or three and a half hour Ironman then it might be slower than what you actually generally run your aerobic runs. The best distribution for my running is one long interval run via two max efforts and one 45 minute easy run with strides. My weekly workouts consist five bikes, two swims and three runs.
