The Consequences of Open Philanthropy
One interesting takeaway from the intermediate goal survey is that at least among these people there were some things people mostly agreed are on average good. Even like everything listed had significant plausible downside risks it can still be that something's net positive expectation. The UK government spending on security features in AI chips was also a top bucket of excitement according to this survey. It seems probably good if these chips have features such that you can determine without being in the data center that stores the labs uh stores the chips.
