Getting Conductors Out of the Lower Band Gap

Bandgap is an energy range in a solid where no electron states can exist, essentially. metals don't really have band gaps, but we often useba gaps to describe semi conductors or insulators. For electrical conduction to happen, you need to get either electrons into the unoccupied, higher energy level, or you ned to get holes which are such as the absence of electrons into that lower occupied level. Paul wit' a hole, it's a bubble.
