What Are the Good Fats Within the Diet?

Fats are a macronutrient and provide energy in the diet, same as protein and carbohydrate. They have nine calories per gram whereas protein and carbohydrate are four calories per gram. The main form that they're found in the diet is triglycerides - three fatty acids bound to glycerol molecule. We also need fat in the diet to help absorb certain nutrients we need such as fat soluble vitamins.
