The Institute for functional medicine is probably leading the way. Find a doctor at iFM and doing more research along those lines is a good start. There's something called commanders intent, which you don't want to hand a military operation a 87 page field guide but then if you give it to people who understand it they'll do well. We also know now that in the United States health span or lifespan is longer than it's ever been we're living close to 80 years on average.
