Terravada Insight Stages on Retreats

A lot of people don't like the notion that you can get into insight stages of retreats. It's almost a tautological argument where if you're not doing a terabyte in insight retreat, you can't by definition get into terravada TM branded insight stages. I think from a religious point of view, I definitely see why they might think that is true. But then from a scientist, I also wonder, but are you getting into territory with similar or identical underlying physiology?
