Avoidant behaviors are really common. You can in with it by starting with, wow, it's normal. Usually other people do this too. Common humanity. And to encourage a person to go through a process of taking responsibility for them. Your avoidant behaviours are not something thrust upon you. Nobody's making you do that. Maybe there is a limited amount of ration for them in your outside world. But independent of that, there's almost always some personal psychology in the mix. That's above and beyond whatever reasonable basis there is for doing that avoidance. So that's one of the most powerful things, just right there. I love that.
