Have students grade their own papers so they can learn what stakes they're making in their writing without having you just tell them what they're doing wrong second i heard this on another podcast but i think it's a great piece of advice your district probably only requires a certain number of grades per semester or per quarter most teachers actually give out more grades than they have toso look into the requirements for your district  and talk to the administration at your school about how many numerical grades you need to give out.
