2021’s XBIZ Sexpert of the year and kink superhero, Sunny Megatron, is on a mission to disrupt the BDSM world. It’s high time to shake up norms and bring the kink community next level with up-to-date standards around consent, ethics, and self-awareness while considering how inclusivity, misogyny, education, attitudes, racism and all the isms impact the whole kit and kaboodle. In this episode, we continue our kinky discussion from episode twenty-two as Sunny tells us more about why her book, “Customizable Kink: A Strategic Guide to Erotic Play” is so necessary. She explains how the patriarchal feedback loop has impacted both the kink community and the media’s portrayal of kink to the masses. All the while, she stresses that she is not dissing traditionalists, but simply stating, “Don’t force it on others.” When Sunny coined the key concept “kink is customizable”, she shed a light on just how much creativity and flexibility is possible with kink. The possibilities are limitless as long as you remember consent. Sunny began teaching about BDSM in 2010. Her area of expertise is the soft skills--which center around things like ethics, cultivating self-awareness, and strategies for effective communication. She received a FROST Certificate of Gratitude in 2020 honoring her service to the kink community, was voted XBIZ sexpert of the year in 2021, and Kinkly’s sex blogging superhero in 2017. Her alternative sexuality focused podcast American Sex was awarded the AASECT podcast award in 2020. Sunny also creates curriculum about BDSM for sexuality professionals.
